Half-Dried Bamboo Lid Rest (Futaoki) (Vacuum-Packed) — Takayama

Takayama in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's historic center of bamboo tea-ceremony craft, where artisans have shaped bamboo wares by hand for centuries.

It is made by hand from natural bamboo by Takayama artisans of the long-established Chikumeido workshop.

A futaoki — the rest on which the kettle lid or the ladle is set during the tea ceremony. Sealed in a vacuum pack to keep the fresh bamboo from drying out before use.

Each time you place an order, we cut bamboo from a bamboo grove, finish the product, apply vacuum packing, and deliver the freshly made freshness to you all; until the package is shipped, it maintains the long-lasting blue hue.
Made in Japan

Care: rinse in water and wipe dry after use; avoid detergent, dishwashers and prolonged soaking, and let the bamboo dry fully to prevent splitting or mold.
