Green Bamboo Flower Vase (Hanaire) (Vacuum-Packed) — Takayama

Takayama in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's historic center of bamboo tea-ceremony craft, where artisans have shaped bamboo wares by hand for centuries.

It is made by hand from natural bamboo by Takayama artisans of the long-established Chikumeido workshop.

A bamboo hanaire (flower vase), a single-cut bamboo vessel for the seasonal tea-room flower (chabana). Made from fresh green bamboo (aotake). Sealed in a vacuum pack to keep the fresh bamboo from drying out before use.

Care: rinse in water and wipe dry after use; avoid detergent, dishwashers and prolonged soaking, and let the bamboo dry fully to prevent splitting or mold.
