Takayama in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's historic center of bamboo tea-ceremony craft, where artisans have shaped bamboo wares by hand for centuries.

It is made by hand from natural bamboo by Takayama artisans of the long-established Chikumeido workshop.

Chiribashi — long bamboo chopsticks used to clear leaves and debris from the roji (tea garden) during cleaning. Made from fresh green bamboo (aotake). Sealed in a vacuum pack to keep the fresh bamboo from drying out before use.

Every time you place an order, we cut bamboo from the grove, shave the chopsticks, apply vacuum packing, and deliver the freshly vibrant quality to you; until the pack is sent, it maintains its blue hue for a long period. Made in Japan

Care: rinse in water and wipe dry after use; avoid detergent, dishwashers and prolonged soaking, and let the bamboo dry fully to prevent splitting or mold.
