Takayama in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's historic center of bamboo tea-ceremony craft, where artisans have shaped bamboo wares by hand for centuries.
It is made by hand from natural bamboo by Takayama artisans of the long-established Chikumeido workshop.
A kekkai — a low bamboo marker placed in the roji (tea garden) to indicate a boundary that guests do not cross. Made from fresh green bamboo (aotake).
We will promptly deliver the fresh green boundary marker for green bamboo (生竹).

Care: rinse in water and wipe dry after use; avoid detergent, dishwashers and prolonged soaking, and let the bamboo dry fully to prevent splitting or mold.
